A native GDPR cookie banner, no third-party plugins
Cookie consent built into the CMS: customizable banner, separate policies, and external embeds that only load after consent. Zero plugins, zero external scripts.

On WordPress, cookie management is an industry: freemium plugins, banners that load scripts from external CDNs (ironic, for a privacy tool), endless configuration. In Element Node cookie consent is a CMS feature, not an extension.
What's inside
From the panel, Settings → Privacy, you enable the banner and control everything:
- Customizable copy, with variants for each language of your site
- Links to separate privacy and cookie policies
- Colors inherited automatically from your site theme, with optional overrides
- Banner position of your choice
- The visitor's choice is remembered on their device and can be revoked
Click-to-load for embeds
The part that makes the difference: third-party content — a Google map, a video, an iframe — can be gated behind consent. Until the visitor accepts, the embed is replaced by an elegant placeholder with an explanation and a load button. No requests to external servers before the yes.
This is what GDPR actually requires and what almost no site implements correctly: showing a banner is not enough, you must block tracking content until consent is given.
Why native is better
- No external script: the banner is part of the site's rendering, weighs nothing and calls no one
- Visual consistency: it inherits your theme's fonts and colors with zero configuration
- One place to look: privacy is configured where you configure the site
Available on every plan, including Free. Because baseline compliance should never be an upsell.
